Foundation laid for Mahfooz Nowshera Control Room under Safe City initiative aimed at enhancing surveillance and ensuring public safety across the district.
Nowshera: A major step toward modern policing and urban security was taken in Nowshera as Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Zulfikar Hamid laid the foundation stone of the “Mahfooz Nowshera Control Room” at Police Lines Nowshera.
The ceremony was attended by Member National Assembly Syed Shah Agha Ali Shah, Member Provincial Assembly Mian Muhammad Umar Kakakhel, Additional IG CTD, and District Police Officer Nowshera Ahmed Shah. The project is being developed through allocated funds aimed at improving law enforcement infrastructure.
According to officials, the control room is part of a broader Safe City initiative that will include the installation of high-resolution CCTV cameras linked with NADRA databases. The system is designed to enhance real-time monitoring, improve response time, and strengthen overall law and order in the district.
IG Zulfikar Hamid praised the initiative, calling it a significant milestone for public safety and modern policing in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He emphasized that the project will play a key role in protecting lives and property while ensuring more effective surveillance across the region.
Authorities confirmed that construction work is progressing rapidly and the system will be operational soon after completion.
