New LPG prices will take effect from April 1, increasing the financial burden on households
Pakistan’s Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has announced a significant increase in the price of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), according to an official notification issued on Tuesday. The regulator raised LPG prices by Rs78.28 per kilogram, pushing the new rate to Rs304.12 per kg.
Key Details of LPG Price Increase
The latest hike has sharply impacted domestic consumers, as the price of a standard 11.8 kg household LPG cylinder has increased by Rs923.71. Following the adjustment, the new price of the cylinder stands at Rs3,588.59.
Officials stated that the revised prices will come into effect from April 1, adding to the financial strain on households already dealing with rising inflation. LPG is widely used across Pakistan, particularly in areas where natural gas supply is limited or unavailable, making the price increase especially burdensome for lower- and middle-income families.
The notification did not specify any immediate relief measures for consumers. Energy analysts warn that continued increases in fuel costs could further drive up overall living expenses, as LPG is commonly used for cooking and heating purposes.
This latest revision reflects ongoing fluctuations in energy markets and regulatory adjustments, which continue to impact consumers nationwide.
