Opposition Lawmakers Push for Jail-to-Hospital Transfer for Imran Khan

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged.

It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

Opposition leaders continue sit-in over Imran Khan’s health, demanding urgent medical transfer and highlighting humanitarian concerns

ISLAMABAD: Lawmakers from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and the Tehreek Tahaffuz-e-Aiyeen Pakistan (TTAP) alliance continued their sit-in at Parliament for the fourth consecutive day, demanding the transfer of PTI founder Imran Khan from Adiala Jail to Al-Shifa Eye Trust Hospital for specialized treatment.

The protest, led by National Assembly Opposition Leader Mehmood Khan Achakzai and Senate Opposition Leader Allama Raja Nasir Abbas, was triggered by serious concerns over Khan’s eyesight. He has been diagnosed with Central Retinal Vein Occlusion (CRVO), a condition that has caused him to lose nearly 85% of vision in his right eye. A team of five senior doctors conducted a one-hour examination inside the jail, noting reduced pain and gradual improvement with ongoing treatment. The full medical report has been submitted to the Punjab Home Department, meeting a Supreme Court of Pakistan deadline.

Alongside health concerns, Khan filed a petition in the Islamabad High Court, seeking suspension of his 17-year sentence in the Toshakhana-2 case and requesting an early hearing in the Al-Qadir Trust case, linked to alleged financial irregularities of £190 million.

While sit-ins at Parliament Lodges and KP House have ended, the main protest continues. Opposition leaders insist the demonstration will persist until Khan is transferred to a specialized hospital, emphasizing medical care as their priority amid escalating political tension.
