High-level meeting focuses on Pakistan-Saudi defense cooperation and regional stability following recent Iranian attacks
In a significant diplomatic engagement, Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, met Saudi Defense Minister Khalid bin Salman Al Saud in Riyadh to discuss bilateral defense cooperation and the evolving regional security situation.
According to officials, the meeting focused on strengthening the Pakistan–Saudi defense partnership and enhancing strategic coordination between the two countries. Both leaders reviewed the existing defense agreement and explored measures to improve joint security mechanisms.
The discussion also covered the latest developments in the region, including recent attacks attributed to Iran against Saudi Arabia. The two sides emphasized the need for coordinated efforts to deter such threats and maintain stability in the Middle East.
During the talks, both leaders expressed concern that the attacks have undermined regional peace, security, and stability. They agreed that stronger cooperation under Pakistan–Saudi strategic frameworks would be essential to prevent further escalation.
The Pakistani and Saudi leadership also conveyed their expectation that Iran would demonstrate restraint and respect the sovereignty of neighboring states to avoid further tensions in the region.
The meeting highlights the continued strategic partnership between Islamabad and Riyadh, particularly in defense and security cooperation amid evolving geopolitical challenges.
