Pakistan’s Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif has sharply criticized Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu accusing him of launching strikes on Iran to divert global attention from the worsening crisis in Gaza.
Speaking on the escalating Middle East tensions, Asif said that international media coverage has shifted toward Iran, which he believes was the primary objective behind the recent military actions. According to him the strikes were not solely strategic operations but part of a broader political move to redirect focus away from Israel’s conduct in Gaza and the West Bank.
He further alleged that Netanyahu is exploiting the situation to advance what he described as a genocidal agenda in Palestinian territories, warning that continued escalation would deepen the humanitarian catastrophe. Asif termed the situation in Gaza and the West Bank one of the gravest humanitarian crises in modern history, stressing that civilian suffering has intensified.
The defense minister urged the international community to remain alert and not allow developments involving Iran to overshadow the ongoing humanitarian emergency in Palestine. He emphasized that global powers must address both the military escalation and the deteriorating human rights conditions to ensure regional stability and prevent further conflict.
