Pakistan Raises Alarm Over UNAMA Report, Urges Action Against Terror Safe Havens

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged.

It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

Islamabad says Afghan territory is being used by militant groups to launch attacks, urges the UN to address security concerns with impartial reporting

WEB DESK: Pakistan has expressed serious reservations over a recent report issued by the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA), stating that parts of the assessment appear to rely heavily on the narrative presented by Afghan Taliban authorities.

Officials in Islamabad noted that several conclusions in the report raise questions about balance and accuracy, adding that information from independently verified and credible sources was not adequately reflected.

According to Pakistan’s position, the Afghan Taliban administration maintains links with various militant groups and has allowed Afghan territory to be used for attacks against Pakistan. Authorities say these activities have led to the deaths of numerous civilians and security personnel in recent months.

Pakistan said it has repeatedly engaged diplomatically with Kabul, including through friendly countries acting as intermediaries, but these efforts have yet to produce meaningful results.

Officials stressed that Pakistan’s counter-terrorism operations are intelligence-based and carried out with precision and professionalism. They added that security forces priorities civilian safety and target militant hideouts in remote areas to minimize casualties.

Islamabad also highlighted a deadly terrorist attack in Miranshah earlier in the day that reportedly harmed several civilians, including children, urging the United Nations to report such incidents with equal seriousness and impartiality.

Pakistan reaffirmed its commitment to continued cooperation with the United Nations and international partners to combat terrorism and promote lasting peace and stability in the region.
