Pakistan Set 213 Run Target Against Sri Lanka in Super 8 Clash

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged.

It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

In the Super 8 stage of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Pakistan posted a formidable total of 212 for 8 against Sri Lanka thanks to a magnificent century by Sahibzada Farhan. The match being played in Kandy saw Sri Lanka win the toss and opt to field first.

Pakistan’s innings was anchored by Farhan who scored a brilliant 100 runs and Fakhar Zaman who contributed 84. The duo stitched together a record 176 run partnership putting Sri Lanka under immense pressure. No other Pakistani batter managed to reach double figures with Khawaja Nafay scoring 2 Shadab Khan 7 while Mohammad Nawaz and Salman Agha were dismissed for ducks.

This marked Farhan’s second century of the tournament making him the first cricketer to score two hundreds in a single T20 World Cup edition.

For this crucial encounter Pakistan left out Babar Azam Saim Ayub and Salman Mirza bringing in Naseem Shah Khawaja Nafay, and Abrar Ahmed.

To secure a semifinal spot, Pakistan must bowl Sri Lanka out for 147 or less; otherwise, New Zealand will advance on superior net run rate. England have already qualified from the group.
