Dubai: (Yaseen Hashmi) Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates reviewed avenues for strengthening change and economic cooperation throughout a high-level meeting held in Dubai, underscoring the shared commitment of both countries to deepen bilateral engagement.
Deputy prime Minister and foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar met with senior representatives of the UAE, inclusive of officials from leading telecommunications company Etisalat (e&) and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi department of Finance, Jassim Mohammed Bu Ataba Al Zaabi.
The meeting focused on enhancing trade ties, expanding investment opportunities and promoting greater private-sector collaboration among Pakistan and the UAE. Discussions additionally covered Etisalat’s ongoing operations in Pakistan, with specific attention to pending matters associated with its shareholding in Pakistan Telecommunication company limited (p.c.).
Senator Dar emphasized that the government of Pakistan remains fully devoted to facilitating foreign investment, especially from friendly countries, with the aid of ensuring a transparent and investor-friendly business environment. He reiterated Pakistan’s desire to further strengthen economic and commercial relations with the UAE, describing the partnership as critical for sustainable development and regional economic stability.
