Peter Siddle called ‘Chacha’ by friend, nickname goes viral again

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged.

It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

Former Australian fast bowler Peter Siddle has once again gone viral after being humorously called “Chacha” (uncle) — this time by his own friend on social media.

The 41-year-old cricketer, currently part of Multan Sultans in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), recently shared pictures online following the conclusion of the Lahore leg of the tournament. In the comments section, a friend jokingly referred to him as “Chacha,” sparking amusement among fans and quickly gaining traction online.

The nickname “Chacha” was originally popularized by Pakistani pacer Haris Rauf during Australia’s Big Bash League (BBL), and it has since stuck with Siddle across leagues.

During the PSL Lahore leg, Siddle had revealed in a press conference that players from Multan Sultans also call him “Chacha.” Adding to the fun, he joked that Iftikhar Ahmed is the “local chacha,” while he considers himself the “foreign chacha.”

The nickname has clearly caught on beyond Pakistan as well. Recently, Australian star Steve Smith also referred to Siddle as “Chacha” during a post-match interaction.

The lighthearted nickname reflects Siddle’s seniority and popularity among teammates, while also highlighting the friendly and humorous culture shared across international cricket leagues.
