ISLAMABAD: (Yaseen Hashmi) The Federal Minister of the Pakistani government of Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik, held a meeting with the Saudi Arabia Ambassador to Pakistan Nawaf bin Saeed Al-Malki to examine the expansion of bilateral cooperation in the energy and minerals fields, officials said.
Throughout the meeting, both the parties reiterated their resolve to enhance cooperation in oil, gas and mineral exploration taking into account the deep-rooted brotherhood of Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
Ali Pervaiz Malik praised the Saudi government on how the Future Minerals Forum in Riyadh was successfully organized, and it was an important venue of enhancing regional and international collaboration in the energy and mining industries. He added that Pakistan considers the forum a significant avenue of enhancing its interaction with Saudi Arabia especially in mineral exploration, investment and sustainable development of resources.
The Saudi ambassador was delighted to see the active involvement of Pakistan in the forum and complimented the increasing interest towards the minerals industry in Islamabad. Al-Malki stressed the need to have continuous discussion and institutional connections so as to turn mutual interests into feasible results.
Ali Pervaiz Malik stated that the good Pakistan-Saudi relationship is projected to bear real outcomes in terms of more investment, technology transfer and joint ventures. He further stated that increased energy and minerals cooperation would lead to economic growth and long-term development in both the countries.
