PM Shehbaz Sharif Holds Bilateral Talks with Qatar’s Emir in Doha

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani during his visit to Doha. The meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir.

According to an official statement, both leaders reviewed all aspects of bilateral relations and reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the Pakistan Qatar brotherly ties. They emphasized the importance of increasing cooperation in all areas of mutual interest.

The Emir of Qatar reiterated his commitment to elevate economic partnership to a high strategic level. Discussions also covered regional and international developments including the situation in Iran and Afghanistan. Both leaders highlighted the importance of diplomacy negotiations, and peaceful resolution of disputes, agreeing to maintain close contacts on key regional issues.

Furthermore the Emir accepted the Prime Minister’s invitation to visit Pakistan later this year. Shehbaz Sharif had arrived in Doha on a two day official visit focusing on strengthening bilateral ties and regional cooperation between Pakistan and Qatar.
