PM Shehbaz Sharif Orders Austerity Measures to Stabilize Economy

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged.

It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that the government will take all necessary decisions to ensure stability in the country’s economy and has directed ministers and government officials to adopt austerity and simplicity in their expenditures.

The remarks were made during a high-level meeting chaired by the prime minister to review measures aimed at strengthening Pakistan’s economy. During the meeting, several proposals and recommendations related to cost-cutting and austerity were discussed. Officials also provided a detailed briefing on global tensions and their possible economic impact on the country.

According to the briefing, regional developments could affect energy supplies and lead to fluctuations in international markets. However, authorities confirmed that Pakistan currently has adequate reserves of petrol, diesel and other petroleum products.

Prime Minister Sharif said that timely economic decisions are essential in the current global environment. He emphasized that the government remains committed to protecting public interests and ensuring economic stability.

He also directed ministers and officials to prioritize public relief, efficient use of resources and strict adherence to austerity measures.

Officials said the austerity policy will not apply to the industrial and agricultural sectors. The prime minister added that all segments of society, especially the privileged class, must share the burden of economic adjustment.
