ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has expressed concern over reported violations of the ongoing ceasefire, warning that such actions are undermining the spirit of peace efforts.
In a statement shared on X (formerly Twitter), the prime minister said there have been reports of ceasefire breaches in certain conflict-affected areas. He emphasized that these violations are damaging the essence of the peace process and could hinder progress toward stability.
Shehbaz Sharif made a sincere appeal to all parties involved to exercise restraint and act responsibly. He urged them to respect the two-week ceasefire agreement in full, stressing that maintaining calm is essential to allow diplomacy to move forward.
The prime minister highlighted that adherence to the ceasefire would create space for constructive dialogue and help pave the way for a peaceful resolution of the conflict. He reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to promoting peace and stability in the region.
In his post, the prime minister also tagged the leadership of both the United States and Iran, signaling Pakistan’s continued diplomatic engagement and support for efforts aimed at de-escalation and long-term peace.
