Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has requested a two-week extension in the deadline from U.S. President Donald Trump to allow ongoing diplomatic efforts in the Middle East to progress.
In a message shared on social media, the Prime Minister stated that diplomatic initiatives aimed at achieving a peaceful resolution to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East are advancing rapidly, with tangible outcomes expected soon.
He appealed to the U.S. President to grant a two-week extension to give diplomacy a fair chance. As a gesture of goodwill, Shehbaz Sharif also urged Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz for two weeks.
Furthermore, the Prime Minister called on all parties involved to observe a complete ceasefire during this period, emphasizing that it would help ensure the success of diplomatic efforts and pave the way for lasting peace and stability in the region.
