PMD Warns of Thunderstorms, Hailstorms Across Pakistan

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged.

It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

Islamabad: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a nationwide weather alert, forecasting thunderstorms, heavy rain, and hailstorms in various parts of the country over the coming days.

According to the department, the expected weather conditions could trigger landslides in vulnerable مناطق of upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit Baltistan, and Kashmir, posing risks to residents and travelers.

The PMD also warned of potential flooding in streams and seasonal nullahs in parts of Balochistan, particularly in Khuzdar, Awaran, Kharan, Kalat, and Mastung. Flash floods are also likely in Kohlu, Lasbela, Zhob, Qilla Saifullah, Qilla Abdullah, and Sherani, where intense rainfall may overwhelm local drainage systems.

In addition, hailstorms are expected in Punjab, Sindh, and parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, raising concerns about potential damage to standing crops and agricultural losses.

Authorities have advised citizens to take precautionary measures and avoid unnecessary travel during severe weather conditions.
