Renowned Sufi leader Pir Syed Mehr Farid-ul-Haq Gilani passes away, as devotees gather in Golra Sharif for funeral prayers and final respects.
ISLAMABAD: Prominent spiritual scholar and Sufi leader Pir Syed Mehr Farid-ul-Haq Gilani, eldest son of Pir Syed Moin-ul-Haq Gilani and Sajjada Nashin of Dargah Alia Ghausia Golra Sharif, has passed away, a spokesperson confirmed on Thursday.
According to the family representative, the funeral prayer will be offered on Friday after Asr prayers at Golra Sharif. The announcement has triggered widespread grief among devotees, followers, and members of the spiritual community across Pakistan.
Pir Syed Mehr Farid-ul-Haq Gilani was widely respected for his lifelong dedication to Sufi teachings, spiritual guidance, and humanitarian service. His work drew thousands of disciples who regarded him as a symbol of peace, faith, and devotion.
Following his passing, a large number of mourners have begun arriving in Golra Sharif to offer condolences and participate in prayers for the elevation of his spiritual ranks.
