Nowshera saw a protest at Shobra Chowk against the sharp increase in petroleum prices, which demonstrators described as a severe burden on the public. The protesters criticized the government for what they called “extreme financial exploitation” of citizens.
The demonstration was attended by prominent political figures, including Provincial Assembly member and District President of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Mian Muhammad Umar, Provincial Assembly members Idrees Khattak, Haji Zar Alam, and Ashfaq Ahmed. National Assembly member Zulfiqar Khan and District General Secretary Mehboob Ali also participated in the protest.
The participants demanded immediate government action to control fuel prices and called for relief measures for the general public, highlighting the economic strain on households caused by rising petroleum costs.
Authorities monitored the protest, which remained peaceful, while demonstrators vowed to continue raising their voices against the increasing cost of essential fuels.
