RAWALPINDI: (Click Pakistan) The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) Rawalpindi Division wasted 1,200 liters of adulterated milk in Chakwal after testing in the laboratory proved its contamination, officials told Wednesday.
A spokesperson of PFA, reported that the milk was a larger consignment being ferried between Khanewal and Rawalpindi. The truck that was carrying milk was inspected and a total of 4,700 liters of milk were checked by the authorities.
The results of the test showed that the polluted milk did not meet the quality standard and the authorities in charge of the product acted by disposing of all the milk before it could find its way into the market. PFA also fined the vehicle operator Rs.40,000 because of trying to deliver poor milk.
The representative indicated that the milk transport vehicles are inspected on a daily basis to ascertain that they are of safe and hygienic milk products to the consumers. The authority has escalated intensifying surveillance to battle the selling and distribution of food stuffs that are adulterated in the region.
