Rawalpindi Police intensifies security with 57 checkpoints, Elite Commandos, and real-time CCTV monitoring under Section 144.
RAWALPINDI: Rawalpindi Police, under the guidance of CPO Syed Khalid Mahmood Hamdani, has strengthened security measures in response to current national concerns. Over 3,200 officers and personnel are deployed for security and traffic duties, with senior officers actively monitoring operations in the field.
The city has Section 144 in effect, banning all unlawful gatherings. Police have been stationed on major roads, while mobile units, Elite Commandos, and Dolphin Force teams patrol key areas. Safe City and other CCTV systems provide real-time monitoring.
To prevent extremist and criminal activity, 57 special checkpoints have been set up. Authorities warned that anyone violating the law or participating in disruptive acts will face strict action. The Rawalpindi Police emphasized that protecting citizens’ lives and property remains the top priority.
CPO Hamdani urged residents not to engage in illegal or disruptive activities.
