RIYADH: Football icon Cristiano Ronaldo made a stunning return from injury, scoring twice to lead Al-Nassr to a commanding 5-2 victory over Al-Najma.
The Portuguese star, widely known as CR7, had been sidelined for nearly a month due to a hamstring injury sustained during a league match against Al-Fayha. His absence saw him miss key fixtures as well as international friendlies for Portugal national football team.
Ronaldo returned in top form, netting two second-half goals, including a penalty in the 56th minute, to help his side regain control after the visitors briefly leveled the score. His performance took his tally to 23 goals in 23 league appearances this season.
Senegalese forward Sadio Mané also contributed with a goal, sealing the emphatic win. Following the match, Ronaldo celebrated his comeback on social media, expressing joy at being back in action.
The victory marks Al-Nassr’s 13th consecutive league win, extending their lead at the top of the table to six points ahead of rivals Al-Hilal, who are set to play their next fixture soon.
