An Indian woman who travelled to Pakistan and married a local man has now reached her husband’s home after receiving official permission from authorities.
The woman, formerly known as Sarabjit Kaur, has embraced Islam and adopted the name Noor Fatima. She had arrived in Pakistan three months ago with a group of Sikh pilgrims and later married Nasser Hussain, a Pakistani citizen.
According to officials from the Evacuee Trust Property Board, Noor Fatima was granted permission to return to her husband’s residence. Earlier, after being taken into custody due to legal and immigration complications, she had refused to return to India. As a result, she was temporarily shifted to a shelter home (Dar-ul-Aman).
Reports indicate that Noor Fatima and Nasser Hussain first connected through social media in 2016. Their relationship eventually led to marriage during her recent visit to Pakistan.
The case had drawn attention due to cross-border sensitivities and visa-related issues. However, with official clearance now granted, Noor Fatima has reunited with her husband.
The development marks another instance of a cross-border marriage between citizens of India and Pakistan, highlighting the complex legal and diplomatic dimensions such cases often involve.
