Crowds shower petals as fallen soldier from Sargodha is laid to rest, vowing his sacrifice will not go in vain
SARGODHA: A brave soldier from Kot Momin embraced martyrdom while defending the motherland during an operation in Waziristan, officials and local residents said.
Sepoy Hanzala Ahmed Khan sacrificed his life thwarting enemy designs in the volatile region. His body was brought to his hometown, where large crowds gathered to pay tribute. Residents showered flower petals on the funeral procession and chanted slogans in support of the Pakistan Army, as an atmosphere of grief enveloped the city.
A large number of citizens, including traders, students and community elders, attended the funeral prayers. The martyr was laid to rest with full military honors, reflecting the nation’s respect for his sacrifice.
Speakers at the occasion said the sacrifices of martyrs remain the strongest guarantee of Pakistan’s security and stability. Locals reaffirmed their resolve that the blood of the nation’s heroes would not be shed in vain.
