Saudi Arabia has reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding national security stating that it reserves the right to take all necessary measures to protect the country’s sovereignty and stability.
The statement came during a virtual cabinet meeting chaired by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, where regional tensions in the Middle East were discussed. According to Saudi media reports, the cabinet emphasized that the kingdom will take appropriate steps to defend its security and territorial integrity in response to any potential threats.
During the meeting, the cabinet also praised the capabilities of the kingdom’s air defense system, noting that it successfully thwarted attempts to target vital installations. Officials said the advanced defense systems effectively neutralized threats aimed at key infrastructure.
The cabinet strongly condemned attacks allegedly carried out by Iran against Saudi Arabia as well as other Gulf and Arab countries. It stated that targeting civilian sites and oil facilities represents a clear violation of international law and threatens regional stability.
The cabinet also welcomed the outcomes of the joint ministerial meeting between the Gulf Cooperation Council and the European Union, while appreciating resolutions passed during the Arab League foreign ministers’ meeting condemning Iranian aggression in the region.
