NDMA advises residents in Sindh to take precautions as temperatures rise significantly from April 11.
The National Emergency Operations Center (NEOC) of NDMA has issued a heatwave alert for various districts of Sindh starting April 11. Temperatures are expected to rise gradually, with daytime highs 5–7°C above normal and nighttime lows 3–5°C higher.
Districts including Dadu, Jacobabad, Larkana, Jamshoro, Qambar Shahdadkot, Ghotki, Khairpur, Sanghar, Umerkot, and Kashmore are at risk of extreme heat. Jhulg Magsi, Usta Muhammad, and Dera Murad Jamali will also experience intensified temperatures. Additionally, Bahawalnagar, Bahawalpur, and Rahim Yar Khan are under a heatwave advisory.
Residents are advised to avoid unnecessary outdoor activities during peak hours, stay hydrated, and monitor vulnerable groups such as children, the elderly, and laborers. NDMA continues to provide timely weather updates and safety information through relevant agencies.
