Shoaib Malik Retires from Pakistan Super League

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged.

It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

Pakistan: Cricketer Shoaib Malik has announced his withdrawal from the Pakistan Super League (PSL) as the tournament prepares for its 11th season, bringing an end to a remarkable chapter in his T20 career. Malik shared the news on his social media platforms, reflecting on a decade-long journey in Pakistan’s premier domestic T20 competition.

“I cherish all the time and friendships I’ve built on and off the field during the past decade of PSL cricket,” Malik said, adding that while he is hanging up his boots as a player, his passion for the game and contribution to its development will continue.

Since the inception of the PSL, Malik remained a central figure, representing four franchises—Karachi Kings, Multan Sultans, Peshawar Zalmi, and Quetta Gladiators. His final appearance came in PSL X for Quetta Gladiators. Over 92 matches, Malik amassed 2,350 runs, making him the fourth-highest run-scorer in PSL history, while also picking up 17 wickets.

Globally, Malik ranks sixth among all-time T20 run-scorers with 13,571 runs. Analysts believe his retirement marks the end of an era, highlighting his role as a mentor who bridged generations and helped shape the professionalism of the league.

As PSL 11 approaches, Malik’s absence will be felt, though future roles in coaching or administration remain a possibility.
