Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has announced a monthly subsidy of Rs. 2,000 for motorcycle owners under a targeted relief program.
He stated that the decision was made during a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, considering the tense regional situation and ongoing economic challenges. The government aims to provide financial relief through targeted subsidies.
According to Murad Ali Shah, there are approximately 6.6 million registered motorcycles in Sindh, and starting from April, each registered owner will receive Rs. 2,000 per month. The subsidy is calculated at Rs. 100 per liter for up to 20 liters of fuel.
He explained that payments will be transferred through an app directly into the account of the person in whose name the motorcycle is registered. Citizens have been advised to transfer ownership into their own names as soon as possible. The motorcycle transfer fee has been waived for 15 days to facilitate this process.
Users will be able to verify their motorcycles by entering their CNIC number in the app, and payments will be issued within 15 days after verification. Only verified motorcycle owners will be eligible for the subsidy.
