Government dismisses rumours of concessions, insists Imran Khan’s health issue resolved while political tensions persist
Pakistan’s Information Minister Attaullah Tarar has firmly rejected speculation about any deal or special concessions for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, calling the claims baseless.
Speaking in London, Tarar said the government fulfilled its responsibility by ensuring proper medical care for former prime minister Imran Khan. He added that Khan’s reported eye condition had been exaggerated and was now resolved after evaluation by medical experts, who also briefed PTI leaders.
Tarar urged the opposition not to politicise health matters. He also highlighted Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s recent visit to Austria, describing it as productive for trade and investment, particularly in textiles and minerals. Sharif’s speech in Vienna, delivered in German, received a warm response, he noted.
Meanwhile, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi disputed the minister’s stance, saying PTI’s demands including access to a personal doctor and treatment at Shifa International Hospital were not met.
