The White House spokesperson Karoline Leavitt has stated that U.S. President Donald Trump is aware of the appeal made by Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
Speaking to American media, Leavitt said that President Trump is expected to respond to the Pakistani Prime Minister’s request soon.
Meanwhile, senior Iranian officials have also indicated that Iran is reviewing the request made by Shehbaz Sharif.
It is worth noting that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif recently urged President Donald Trump to grant a two-week extension to the deadline. In a message shared on social media, he emphasized that diplomatic efforts for a peaceful resolution to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East are progressing rapidly, with concrete results expected soon.
He further requested that the deadline be extended by two weeks to give diplomacy a fair chance. As a gesture of goodwill, the Prime Minister also appealed to Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz for two weeks.
Additionally, Shehbaz Sharif called on all parties involved to observe a complete ceasefire during this period to support diplomatic progress and help establish lasting peace and stability in the region.
