The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) on Monday forecast widespread rain thunderstorms and snowfall across the country from March 24 to March 30 with occasional gaps.
According to the Met Office, a strong western disturbance will enter southwestern Balochistan on March 24 evening intensifying from March 27 night and continuing until March 31.Under its influence several districts including Gwadar Quetta Khuzdar and Chaman are expected to receive rain-wind thunderstorms, with chances of heavy falls and isolated hailstorms.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, rain and thunderstorms accompanied by heavy falls and snowfall over hilly areas are likely from March 25 night to March 26 morning. Areas such as Chitral Swat Abbottabad and Peshawar may be affected.
Meanwhile, parts of Punjab and Islamabad are also expected to receive widespread rain from March 28 to March 30 with isolated heavy downpours and possible hailstorms.
Authorities have advised citizens to take precautionary measures, particularly in vulnerable areas, as heavy rain and strong winds may disrupt daily life and infrastructure.
