Thousands of migratory crows over Tel Aviv prompt viral videos and social media speculation amid regional tensions.
TEL AVIV: Thousands of crows filling the skies above Tel Aviv have become a viral sensation, sparking conspiracy theories across social media. Videos captured from street level and city rooftops show dense flocks sweeping over traffic and buildings, leaving viewers both amazed and unsettled.
Some social media users linked the unusual gathering to the ongoing regional conflict, suggesting the birds’ presence might signal danger or an impending disaster. Cultural beliefs about animals sensing danger have amplified speculation, with posts on X (formerly Twitter) quickly spreading interpretations of the phenomenon as a possible omen.
Experts, however, caution against reading too much into the spectacle. “Large flocks are a common sight along Israel’s migratory corridors connecting Europe, Asia, and Africa,” said wildlife specialist Dr. Lior Ben-Ari. “This is seasonal behavior, entirely natural, and not a harbinger of events.”
Israel’s position along key migratory routes explains the timing and scale of the gatherings, which occur as birds move between feeding and breeding grounds. Specialists emphasize that while the visuals may appear extraordinary, they are simply part of nature’s rhythm and not linked to supernatural or predictive behavior.
