The Pakistani Embassy has confirmed that a Pakistani citizen was killed after debris from a ballistic missile fell in the United Arab Emirates. In an official statement, the embassy expressed deep condolences to the bereaved family and assured them of full support during this difficult time. It also stated that arrangements are being made to repatriate the deceased’s body to Pakistan as possible.
Earlier, authorities in Abu Dhabi reported that the UAE’s air defense system successfully intercepted and destroyed a ballistic missile in mid air. However, debris from the intercepted missile fell in the Sweihan area, resulting in the deaths of two people and injuries to three others. Officials further revealed that several vehicles were damaged due to the falling debris.
The incident highlights the risks associated with missile interceptions, even when defense systems perform successfully. Emergency services quickly reached the site to provide medical assistance to the injured and secure the affected area. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the incident while ensuring public safety measures are strengthened to prevent further casualties in similar situations.
