Police from Mandrah Police Station arrested a bride for allegedly firing a gun during her wedding . The incident came to light after a video of the firing went viral on social media, prompting action on the instructions of the SP.
According to the FIR registered by ASI Waseem Akhtar at 8:45 AM on March 26, police received information from an informant and reached the town of Gorrha, where a girl identified as “S” was reportedly firing a pistol into the air. A man named Shehryar was also present with her.
Police claimed they arrested the girl on the spot and recovered the pistol, which had already fired two rounds, while four live bullets were also found. The girl’s husband, Shehryar, managed to escape.
However, sources say the incident actually took place the previous night during a mehndi ceremony. It is alleged that the police filed a false FIR by showing the incident as occurring at 8:45 AM and stating that the firing happened on a public road.
The arrest of the bride and the alleged filing of a false FIR have sparked public criticism.
