Pakistan Army Completes Second Phase of Bagan Bazaar Reconstruction in Kurram District

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged.

It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

Keys to 48 newly rebuilt shops handed over as part of a phased recovery effort after sectarian violence in November 2024.

KURRAM DISTRICTThe second phase of reconstruction at Bagan Bazaar in Kurram district has been completed, marking a significant step toward economic recovery after sectarian violence in November 2024 left dozens of shops destroyed.

The market, once a hub of local commerce, suffered extensive damage when miscreants set fire to multiple shops, causing severe financial losses to residents and disrupting livelihoods. In response, the Pakistan Army, in coordination with district authorities, launched a phased rebuilding initiative aimed at restoring economic stability in the area.

During the first phase, affected shopkeepers received financial assistance to help them recover initial losses. The completion of the second phase now brings tangible progress, with 48 newly constructed shops handed over to their rightful owners.

A ceremony held at Bagan Primary School marked the occasion, where officials distributed shop keys to traders. The reconstruction effort extended beyond commercial spaces, including the development of a madrassa, a waiting area, a children park, and the installation of 50 street lights to improve public infrastructure.

The event was attended by senior army officials, the Deputy Commissioner of Kurram, and a large number of local residents. Community members praised the initiative, calling it a vital step toward restoring normalcy and fostering long-term development in the area.
