Government opens 24/7 excise offices and adds counters to facilitate citizens
In a major relief measure, the government has abolished motorcycle transfer fees in Islamabad to ensure citizens can easily benefit from the petrol subsidy program.
The decision, implemented by the Excise Department, aims to resolve issues related to motorcycle registration, which had previously limited access to fuel subsidies for many riders. Officials stated that citizens can now transfer motorcycle ownership into their names without paying any fee at the Islamabad Excise Office.
Director General Excise Irfan Memon confirmed that the move is designed to streamline the process and ensure government relief reaches the public efficiently. To further facilitate citizens, excise offices will remain open 24 hours a day.
Additionally, extra service counters have been set up to manage the expected rush and provide quicker service. Authorities believe these steps will significantly reduce delays and encourage more citizens to register their motorcycles properly.
The initiative reflects the government’s broader effort to improve public service delivery and make subsidy programs more accessible to the general population.
