Principal seat in Islamabad suspends judicial proceedings while staff shifts to remote work amid security restrictions.
ISLAMABAD: The Federal Constitutional Court of Pakistan has announced that no judicial work will be conducted at its principal seat in Islamabad on April 20, 2026, due to the closure of the Red Zone and related access challenges.
According to an official notification, the court’s cause list scheduled for the day has been cancelled, and all hearings stand adjourned. The decision has been taken in light of logistical and security constraints affecting movement within the federal capital.
Court officials and staff have been directed to work from home, ensuring continuity of administrative functions despite the suspension of in-person proceedings. Meanwhile, branch registries will remain open to facilitate essential services.
Authorities indicated that normal judicial operations are expected to resume once conditions allow, with further updates to be issued as necessary.
