Bar association urges court to avoid adverse orders as lawyers face difficulty reaching hearings.
ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court Bar Association has issued a notice informing its members about severe access restrictions to the Islamabad High Court due to heightened security measures linked to a high-level diplomatic visit.
According to the notice, the Red Zone will remain closed on Monday, April 20, 2026, significantly disrupting entry routes to the court premises. The closure is part of broader security arrangements in the federal capital amid ongoing diplomatic activity.
The Bar Association stated that access to the Islamabad High Court has been “severely disrupted,” making it difficult for lawyers to attend scheduled hearings and court proceedings. The situation is expected to affect a large number of cases listed for the day.
In response, the association has formally requested the court to exercise leniency and refrain from passing adverse orders against lawyers or litigants who may be unable to appear due to these restrictions.
Officials noted that the limitations are temporary and linked to security protocols surrounding the high-level visit. However, legal practitioners have expressed concern over the impact on judicial proceedings and case management.
Members have been advised to plan accordingly and stay updated regarding any further notifications or changes in access arrangements.
