GIDS chief says international interest in Pakistan’s defense systems rising after recent conflict and diplomatic efforts.
KUALA LUMPUR: Asad Kamal, chief executive officer of Global Industrial & Defence Solutions (GIDS), said the global response to Pakistan’s defense products has been highly positive following recent military and diplomatic developments.
Speaking at the Defence Services Asia (DSA) exhibition in Kuala Lumpur, Kamal stated that the international community is increasingly showing interest in Pakistan’s defense technologies after what he described as the “Victory of May War 25” and subsequent peace-building diplomatic achievements.
He noted that Pakistan’s defense industry has demonstrated both capability and reliability, contributing to enhanced credibility in the global arms market. According to him, this has translated into growing demand for locally produced defense systems.
The DSA exhibition, one of Asia’s prominent defense industry events, has attracted military officials, defense companies, and policymakers from across the world, providing Pakistan an opportunity to showcase its indigenous technologies.
Kamal emphasized that Pakistan’s defense exports are positioned to expand further, supported by improved performance in recent conflicts and active diplomatic engagement aimed at regional stability.
Analysts say that such exhibitions play a crucial role in strengthening defense cooperation, boosting exports, and enhancing the country’s strategic footprint in international markets.
