ISLAMABAD: Iran’s presidential office has rejected reports suggesting rifts within the country’s top leadership, calling the claims baseless amid ongoing geopolitical tensions and stalled diplomatic efforts.
A spokesperson for Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said assertions of internal divisions are inaccurate and do not reflect the reality of decision-making in Tehran. The official emphasized that the country’s leadership remains cohesive and aligned on key national issues, particularly in relation to foreign policy.
The reports of discord surfaced during a period of heightened scrutiny over Iran’s position in negotiations with the United States. Officials linked to U.S. President Donald Trump have indicated that Washington is seeking a clear and unified stance from Tehran before moving forward with further diplomatic engagement.
