Amir Muqam Sparks Optimism at Peshawar Ceremony, Calls Youth ‘True Power Behind Pakistan’s Rise’

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged.

It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

Federal Minister highlights youth empowerment, regional tensions, and Pakistan’s growing global role during laptop distribution event in Peshawar.

PESHAWAR: Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs, Gilgit-Baltistan and SAFRON, Engineer Amir Muqam, on Thursday delivered a wide-ranging address at a laptop distribution ceremony, declaring that Pakistan is emerging as a strong voice for peace, dialogue and stability in a rapidly shifting global landscape.

Speaking as chief guest at the Institute of Management Sciences (IMSciences) Peshawar under the Prime Minister’s Laptop Scheme, Muqam emphasized that nations are built on the hard work, vision and character of their youth not merely on resources.

Calling the initiative more than a symbolic gesture, the minister said the distribution of laptops represents a “practical step” toward empowering students with digital tools essential for academic growth and future competitiveness.

“This is not just a ceremony. It is about connecting our young generation with modern technology and laying the foundation for a brighter Pakistan,” he said, praising Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s leadership and vision focused on education, research, digital transformation and economic stability.

Muqam also acknowledged the role of the federal government in steering the country through economic and political challenges, noting that consistent efforts are being made to promote education, skills development and employment opportunities for youth.

Turning to international affairs, the minister warned that rising global tensions particularly between the United States and Iran pose serious challenges to regional peace. In this context, he reiterated Pakistan’s position as a responsible and peace-loving state that continues to advocate balance and diplomacy.

In remarks referencing national security, Muqam highlighted Pakistan’s defense history, recalling the nuclear tests conducted in May 1998 under former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif despite global pressure. He also praised the armed forces, stating that under the leadership of Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Pakistan’s military has demonstrated strength and resilience.

He credited both political and military leadership, including Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, for maintaining stability and enhancing Pakistan’s global standing, adding that the country’s international reputation has seen improvement.

Addressing students directly, Muqam urged them to utilize the laptops as tools for knowledge, innovation and national development. “This device in your hands is not just a machine, it is the power to create, research and lead,” he said.

He concluded by reaffirming his commitment to youth development and quality education in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, calling for collective efforts to build a peaceful, prosperous and globally respected Pakistan.

Earlier, the minister was warmly received upon arrival at the institute, where he was briefed on academic progress by the administration. He also participated in a tree plantation activity on campus.
