Shoaib Malik Request to Maryam Nawaz Sparks Debate Across Punjab

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged.

It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

Former Pakistan Captain Shoaib Malik highlights importance of fitness, calls for extended gym hours to support working individuals.

Former Pakistan cricket captain Shoaib Malik has appealed to Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz to grant special relief to gyms and fitness centers by extending their operating hours.

In a message shared on social media platform X, Malik acknowledged the government’s timely regulations for businesses but stressed that fitness centers require special consideration. He noted that a large segment of the workforce can only engage in physical exercise after office hours, making it essential for gyms to remain open until at least 10 p.m.

Malik emphasized that physical health is as important as nutrition, arguing that extended gym hours could contribute to building a healthier and stronger society. His statement quickly gained traction online, triggering mixed reactions. While many users supported his stance, others urged the government to maintain balance across all business sectors.

The appeal comes in response to the Punjab government’s austerity measures, which mandate early closure of markets and shopping malls at 8 p.m. Authorities say the policy aims to conserve energy, reduce traffic congestion, and improve urban management.
