Punjab Schools May Close Earlier Than Expected as Education Minister Breaks Silence

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged.

It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

Punjab’s school students and parents are anxiously awaiting an official announcement after reports suggested that summer vacations in government schools could begin from May 25 amid intensifying heat across the province.

According to sources within the School Education Department, an initial schedule for summer holidays has reportedly been finalized, with authorities expected to seek final approval from the provincial government in the coming days.

Sources further indicated that the vacations may continue until August 16, giving students an extended break during the peak summer season. However, no formal notification has yet been issued by the government.

Meanwhile, Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat clarified that no final decision has been made regarding the summer vacation schedule. In his statement, he said that three to four different proposals are currently under consideration by the authorities.

The uncertainty has triggered widespread discussion among parents, teachers, and students, especially as temperatures continue to rise in several cities of Punjab. Many parents are urging the government to announce an early closure to protect children from extreme weather conditions.

Education experts believe that weather conditions and public health concerns will play a major role in the government’s final decision. Schools across Punjab are currently operating under normal schedules while officials review possible options.

An official notification regarding the final dates of summer vacations is expected soon after consultations between the School Education Department and the Punjab government are completed.
