The controversy surrounding alleged drug suspect Anmol Pinky has intensified after Karachi Police suspended two more female constables over accusations of providing the accused with extraordinary protocol and special treatment during a court appearance. The latest action has pushed the total number of suspended police personnel in the case to five.
According to Karachi Police officials, the disciplinary action came after videos and photographs from the court premises went viral on social media, showing the suspect allegedly receiving treatment that appeared inconsistent with standard procedures for detainees. The footage triggered widespread criticism online and raised serious questions about police conduct and favoritism.
Police authorities stated that the two female constables responsible for escorting Anmol Pinky to court were suspended on charges of negligence and violating departmental code of conduct. Officials believe the accused was provided unusual comfort and security arrangements during the appearance, prompting immediate intervention from senior officers.
Earlier, three officials associated with Garden Police Station had already been suspended in connection with the same case. The suspended officers include SHO Hanif Siyal, SIU officer Zafar Iqbal, and investigating officer Saeed Ahmed. Police sources claim the officers presented the suspect in court without handcuffs and allegedly extended unauthorized VIP-style protocol, which is considered a violation of police regulations.
The matter gained further traction after viral videos showed officers reportedly guiding and escorting the accused in a manner many social media users described as preferential treatment. Citizens and online commentators strongly criticized the police department, demanding accountability and equal enforcement of the law.
Senior police officials confirmed that a formal inquiry against all suspended personnel is currently underway. Authorities warned that further disciplinary action could be taken if additional evidence of misconduct or misuse of authority emerges during the investigation.
The inquiry is being supervised by the SSP South, while Karachi Police reiterated that no accused individual would be allowed privileges beyond the framework of the law. The case has once again sparked debate about accountability within law enforcement institutions and the alleged influence enjoyed by high-profile suspects.
