Gohar Zaman Wazir has emerged as one of the most active administrative officers in the district after continuing extensive field visits and public service activities throughout Eid-ul-Adha in Nowshera.
Since assuming charge as Deputy Commissioner, Gohar Zaman Wazir has maintained a consistent schedule of inspections across government institutions, markets, public spaces and civic facilities. His active presence in the field and direct interaction with citizens have been widely appreciated by local residents and social circles.
Ahead of Eid-ul-Adha, the deputy commissioner carried out multiple visits to cattle markets and livestock fairs established across the district. During these inspections, he reviewed security arrangements, cleanliness measures, traffic management, water supply and other facilities provided to traders and buyers.
Officials said the deputy commissioner directed the concerned authorities to ensure better facilities for citizens and livestock traders while maintaining strict cleanliness and security protocols at all cattle markets. He also met traders and local residents during the visits and listened to their concerns.
Unlike many officials who remain occupied with Eid holidays, Gohar Zaman Wazir continued his public service activities even on Eid day. He paid a special visit to the District Jail Nowshera where he met prisoners, listened to their issues and reviewed the facilities being provided inside the jail.
During the visit, the deputy commissioner extended Eid greetings to inmates and instructed jail authorities to ensure respectful treatment of prisoners along with the provision of all basic facilities.
According to sources, the deputy commissioner also visited various areas of the district, particularly Jahangira and nearby localities, on the second and third days of Eid. He inspected cleanliness operations after animal sacrifices, monitored the disposal of waste materials and reviewed overall civic management arrangements.
He checked the performance of sanitation staff on the spot and directed relevant departments to utilize all available resources to provide a clean environment for citizens during Eid celebrations.
The deputy commissioner also interacted with citizens at different locations and discussed issues related to sanitation, water supply, sewerage and other public concerns. Residents appreciated his field presence and immediate response to public issues, stating that an active and people-friendly officer can better understand and address the problems faced by citizens.
Public and social circles in Nowshera said the continuous field visits and practical supervision by the deputy commissioner were improving the performance of district administration departments and increasing the sense of responsibility among officials.
