Parliament Comes to a Sudden Halt, Why Have Both Houses Been Postponed?

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged.

It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

National Assembly session has been adjourned until Saturday, while the Senate will reconvene on Monday to continue legislative and parliamentary business.

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s parliamentary proceedings witnessed a temporary pause on Friday after the National Assembly and Senate sessions were adjourned, delaying discussions on key legislative and parliamentary matters.

According to parliamentary sources, the National Assembly session was adjourned until 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 13, 2026. The next sitting is expected to continue deliberations on ongoing parliamentary affairs, legislative proposals, and other items on the official agenda.

The adjournment comes at a time when lawmakers are engaged in discussions on several important national issues, including legislative measures and matters related to governance and public policy.

Meanwhile, the Senate session was also postponed and will now be held on Monday, June 15, 2026, at 12:30 p.m. The upper house is expected to take up pending legislative business and review a range of parliamentary matters during its next sitting.

Parliamentary observers note that adjournments are a routine part of the legislative process, allowing lawmakers additional time for consultations, committee work, and preparations for upcoming debates and decisions.

With both houses set to reconvene in the coming days, attention will remain focused on the legislative agenda and the progress of key parliamentary initiatives.
