Election Commission completes allocation of reserved seats, clarifying the parliamentary strength of major political parties in Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly.
The political landscape of Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly has become clearer after the Election Commission completed the allocation of reserved seats for women and technocrats following the 2026 elections.
According to the official notification, five reserved seats for women have been distributed among political parties. The Pakistan Peoples Party secured three seats, while the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz and Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party received one seat each.
The Election Commission also finalized the distribution of three technocrat seats. Under the announced formula, the Pakistan Peoples Party, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, and Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party each received one seat.
The completion of reserved seat allocation has further defined the parliamentary strength of political parties in the Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly.
