Rescue teams, police, and district authorities rushed to the scene as investigators detained two suspects and launched a comprehensive inquiry into the fatal building collapse in Lahore’s Kahna area.
Lahore witnessed a heartbreaking tragedy after a tuition center building collapsed in the Kahna area, leaving children dead and several others injured. Emergency responders launched an immediate rescue operation while authorities began investigating the cause of the incident.
Deputy Inspector General of Operations, Faisal Kamran, reached the site shortly after the collapse to supervise rescue efforts. Police officers, Rescue 1122 personnel, and district administration teams worked together to remove debris and safely evacuate victims trapped beneath the rubble.
The injured children were shifted to the Kahna Tehsil Headquarters Hospital, where medical treatment is continuing. Faisal Kamran later visited the hospital, met the injured children and their families, expressed condolences to the families of those who lost loved ones, and assured them of full legal, administrative, and humanitarian support.
Police confirmed that two individuals, including the building owner, have been taken into custody as part of the initial legal proceedings. Authorities are collecting evidence to determine the exact cause of the collapse and identify those responsible.
According to the DIG Operations, all available resources have been deployed for the rescue operation, while relevant government departments remain in close coordination throughout the investigation. He emphasized that legal action will be taken against anyone found responsible without discrimination, following the completion of the investigation.
