Iran’s parliament speaker says the regional balance has shifted following the recent conflict, urging Washington to recognize the new reality while defending Tehran’s independent decision-making.
Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf has urged the United States to recognize what he described as a fundamentally changed regional landscape following the recent conflict involving Iran, the United States, and Israel. He argued that the Middle East is no longer in the same position as before the war and said Washington should adjust its policies to reflect current realities.
In a statement posted on X, Ghalibaf responded to recent remarks by Donald Trump, saying the US president should focus on America’s domestic challenges instead of commenting on Iran’s internal affairs. He specifically highlighted public welfare and food assistance as issues deserving greater attention.
Ghalibaf claimed that more than 40 million Americans rely on the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), arguing that US leaders should prioritize addressing domestic economic concerns rather than offering advice to Tehran.
