Radar services at Islamabad International Airport will remain temporarily suspended for eight hours due to scheduled maintenance, while air traffic control operations continue through Lahore without disrupting domestic or international flights.
ISLAMABAD: Radar services at Islamabad International Airport have been temporarily suspended from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. today due to scheduled maintenance, but flight operations will continue without interruption under alternate air traffic management arrangements.
According to sources, the temporary suspension is part of routine maintenance work and is not expected to affect the airport’s normal flight schedule. Passengers are unlikely to experience major delays as domestic and international flight operations will continue as planned.
To ensure uninterrupted air traffic services, radar monitoring and aircraft guidance for Islamabad Airport have been shifted to Lahore Airport. Air traffic controllers in Lahore will provide radar coverage and navigation support throughout the maintenance period.
Sources said the alternative radar system from Lahore will handle both domestic and international flights, allowing aircraft arrivals and departures to proceed safely and efficiently until maintenance work at Islamabad Airport is completed.
