A Skardu-bound private airline flight was forced to suspend its journey after a bird strike during takeoff caused significant damage to one of the aircraft’s engines, according to airline officials.
Flight PK-455, carrying 170 passengers, encountered the incident while accelerating for departure. The impact reportedly damaged the engine, with several engine blades breaking as a result of the collision. The flight was unable to continue its scheduled journey to Skardu.
The airline’s spokesperson confirmed that all passengers remained safe and were immediately shifted to the airport lounge following the incident. No injuries were reported.
Technical teams have begun inspecting and repairing the aircraft to determine the full extent of the damage before it can return to service. Airline officials have not yet announced a revised departure schedule for the affected passengers.
