The actress clarified that her viral comments were misunderstood, denied targeting Danyal Zafar, and defended romantic scenes as a professional requirement of acting.
Pakistani actress Sehar Hashmi has addressed recent controversy surrounding her social media remarks, speculation about co-star Danyal Zafar, and criticism over her on-screen romantic scenes, saying her comments had been widely misunderstood.
Speaking during a YouTube interview, the actress, currently starring in the television dramas Zanjeerain and Shaidai, clarified that her earlier post about experiencing “cold behaviour” on the set of Zanjeerain was not directed at any specific actor.
Sehar explained that the drama’s emotionally intense storyline and harsh winter filming conditions naturally affected the atmosphere on set. She stressed that the environment, rather than her fellow actors, influenced the overall mood during production.
The actress praised her co-stars, including Sajal Aly and Danyal Zafar, describing her working experience with them as positive. She also revealed that Sajal Aly appreciated her performance and expressed hope that they would collaborate again.
Addressing online speculation, Sehar said the issue was unrelated to Danyal Zafar, the director, or the producer. Instead, she claimed that certain behind-the-scenes crew members displayed unfriendly behaviour, making her feel uncomfortable. She added that she chooses to distance herself from situations where she feels disrespected.
